This term became popular due to the frequent use of Yahoo Mail by early internet scammers, and it has since become a broader reference to various internet fraud schemes, especially romance scams, identity theft, and business email compromise.
"Yahoo Yahoo" is often associated with young individuals who use fake identities to lure unsuspecting victims, mainly from foreign countries, into sending money or revealing sensitive information. These scammers may pretend to be in love, offer fake job opportunities, or pretend to be wealthy individuals in need of urgent financial assistance. In more severe cases, it overlaps with cyber trafficking when victims are coerced into sharing explicit content or unknowingly become part of criminal networks.
The rise of "Yahoo Yahoo" reflects deeper issues in society, such as unemployment, poverty, and the glamorization of wealth without effort. It also highlights the growing need for digital literacy, stricter cyber laws, and better law enforcement in combating internet crime.

To fight this menace, society must invest in education, economic opportunities, and ethical values among youth. Above all churches should also learn how to teach their young ones about the dangers involved in this end time hunger for quick wealth.
